CEO Gives Employees $2,000 To Go On Vacation
Mark Douglas, CEO of SteelHouse, which provides a self-service advertising platform, pays his employees to take vacation. If you work at SteelHouse, the company will pay you $2,000 a year to go anywhere in the world and do anything you want. You can spread it out across multiple trips or blow it all at once; Douglas leaves it up to the team member. Employees are not allowed to take the cash—they must use it for an actual vacation. The results have spoken for themselves, Douglas says. In the last three years, only five people out of 250 have left the company, three of whom left for reasons unrelated to the job itself. How To Win The War On Talent
2019 might be one of the hardest times ever to find good people. There are more jobs available than people looking. It is an employee market with turnover at an all time high across the US. How does a company grow while struggling to find enough new talent? The answer is to have an effective recruitment marketing and hiring strategy in place that excites today’s job seekers.
Debra Senra knows a thing or two about hiring and retaining top talent. Debra is the Vice President of Customer Success at Hireology, regarded as one of the top companies helping over 6,500 of their clients attract and hire their best teams and quickly integrate them with the rest of the organization.
“Today’s top talent spends a significant amount of time researching job opportunities before applying to open roles. And one of the key criteria they take into consideration when making career moves is a company’s employment brand,” says Senra. “Recent data found that 69 percent of job seekers would reject a job offer from a company with a bad employer brand.”
