Experience Is Your Best Weapon in The Retail Apocalypse

As brick and mortar retail locations are currently struggling to compete with the growing world of online shopping, it is more important now than ever for store front retailers to embrace their core differentiation: the physical shopping experience.

The Retail Shopping Experience

What experience are you providing to your customers that will allow you to stand out and differentiate yourself in this competitive market? How can you provide a unique, memorable experience for your customers at each stage in the interaction?

Here are some great brands that have transformed the traditional, mundane retail transaction by creating a unique and memorable experience. These retail locations make it easy for me to talk about them and share my positive experiences with my family and friends, in a world where retail is struggling.

Lululemon

Lululemon makes athletic clothes for yoga, running, working out, and most other sweaty pursuits. Lululemon offers a concierge service at its flagship store in New York to help shoppers book a spot in an exercise class or find a running route in the city. Lululemon retail locations also offer free community yoga classes in their stores. How convenient, shopping and yoga!

Evereve

Evereve is an American fashion retailer with over 80 locations that carries designer brands made for moms. Evereve has a playroom in every store for children. The stores also give the children juice and Goldfish crackers while mom is shopping. They even have dog treats and water bowls for the furry children. This allows mom to have more time to shop, and hopefully spend more money!

HOMAGE

HOMAGE is a vintage apparel store that specializes in unique t-shirts to show tribute to personalities in sports, music, politics and political culture. Homage gives shoppers a free glass bottle of Coca-Cola and a deck of baseball cards with every purchase. Just last week my significant other, who isn’t one to be too excited about shopping for clothes, was pleasantly surprised to be offered a bottle of Coca-Cola and a pack of 90’s baseball cards while checking out!

Retail Shopping with Your Family

Constructing unique customer experiences may require creative hard work or simple gestures, nonetheless they are essential to building loyalty and increasing sales. Give your customers a reason to come running to visit your business!
