Finding Opportunities in Adversity

Look at the opportunities and the blessings many of us during this Coronavirus crisis. Here are some ideas to help you make the most out of your time today:

  1. Bond with your family.

Have electronic-free windows of family time. Play games. Watch family videos from 5, 10, and 20 years ago. Show them your childhood videos and pull up boxes of family photos.

Family activities you can start doing today:

  1. Help other families.

Think of ways you can help the less fortunate families who are affected more by this crisis (ex. donating essential supplies).

  1. Focus on personal development.

Read what you’ve been dying to read but haven’t had the time. Start or finish your book. Get your best workouts in. Improve your eating habits. Work on your wellness and make it a habit.

  1. Connect with people who had made an impact on your life.

Make a list of people you care about that you never typically have time for. Whether they are your teachers, relatives, counselors, coaches, first bosses, whoever they may be. Reach out to them and let them know the impact they had on your life. If you call someone, FaceTime them.

Enjoy these opportunities because soon enough, we will be back to our crazy worlds and we will actually be missing this time that we had with our loved ones.
