Chipotle Cuts Hiring Time by 75% Using AI Recruiter
Chipotle CEO Scott Boatwright recently confirmed that the chain aims to open a new location roughly every 24 hours throughout 2025. Chipotle Mexican Grill has significantly streamlined its hiring process by introducing an AI-powered virtual assistant named “Ava Cado.” Developed in collaboration with recruitment software firm Paradox, Ava Cado has reduced the average time from application to job offer by approximately 75%, decreasing from 12 days to just 4 days.
How Ava Cado Works
Ava Cado utilizes conversational AI to automate various stages of the recruitment process:
- Candidate Interaction: Engages with applicants to answer questions about the company and available positions.
- Information Collection: Gathers essential applicant details.
- Interview Scheduling: Coordinates interview times between candidates and hiring managers.
- Offer Dissemination: Sends job offers to selected candidates.

Since implementing Ava Cado, Chipotle has observed notable improvements. Application Completion Rate have increased from 50% to over 85%. Application Volume has nearly doubled, indicating a higher interest in job openings. Time to Hire has reduced from 12 days to 4 days on average. These enhancements are particularly beneficial during Chipotle’s peak hiring periods, such as the “Burrito Season” from March through May, when the company aims to hire approximately 20,000 seasonal workers.
